These covers differ from usual magazine covers as they represent disabilities as well as representing people not being perfect and showing the imperfections in their lives with the footballer living on the streets before playing for England. Most normal magazines would put a happy celebrity showing a glamourous lifestyle.
The Big Issue uses a known figure to emphasize people with less of a voice in society. The use of him trying to find fulfillment trying to bring people worse off to try and find the good in life and not let issues dictate the rest of your life.
