Netflix is a global conglomerate so wants to make content as accessible as possible to audiences so are more likely to use popular genres that may play into common stereotypes of places and people especially genres that are popular in western countries due to Netflix being from America

Social contexts in Lupin and Stranger Things will affect genre used flipping conventions for example flipping the convention of Paris being the perfect fairytale city

 Evaluate the usefulness of one of the following theories in understanding long form television drama either Hall's theories representation theory or  Guantlett's identity theory Guantlett's identity theory states that identities are created around media consumed by a person and an identity is formed by piecing together different parts of media. In Stranger Things Guantlett's theory is shown through the main character's in the show being the group of boys. This is highlighted through the boys personalities being based around media present in the 1980's. This is also present throughout the show with them naming the Demogorgon after a character in Dungeons and dragons highlighting the influence of media on the boys lives. The boys also base their attempt to find Will in the pilot episode on wanting to be like a comic book hero.
