Shang chi

 -MCU is the name given to the set of franchises owned mostly by Marvel.

-For copywrite reasons, characters such as Spiderman are owned by other companies. In Spiderman's case, Sony.

-MCU aren't just films but also tv shows, tv specials, comics ( cross-media convergence)

-MCU is planned in different phases, with interlinking series

-Shang chi is part of phase 4

Character of Xu Wenwu is an evolution of the previously problematic character- the politically acceptable 'Mandarin' .  In comics the character was called Fu Manchu. 


Production timings: 

Started filming process in Australia. Other Marvel films have been filmed in Australia like Thor Ragnorok

Shang Chi filming started in 2020 February. The release pattern of the film had to be delayed

CGI- computer generated imagery 


Shang chi was filmed in IMAX, this was very expensive.
